ADHD Medication

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a mental health disorder that manifests itself in the form of impaired attention and hyperactivity or impulsivity. Treatment for ADHD usually involves a combination of lifestyle changes, psychological therapy and medication. ADHD medications are designed to improve brain function for those with the disorder, helping them to stay focused and reduce impulsivity and hyperactivity. These medications work by increasing the amount of certain neurotransmitters in the brain, such as norepinephrine and dopamine, which are believed to be associated with attention and focus. Common side effects of ADHD medication include insomnia, decreased appetite, nausea, headaches and irritability. When taken under a doctor's supervision, ADHD medications can be used to improve focus and attention, helping people with the disorder lead more productive and successful lives.
