Young Adult ADHD
Young Adult ADHD is a mental disorder affecting adolescents and adults aged 18-30. Characterized by difficulty paying attention, impulsive behavior, and hyperactivity, Young Adult ADHD can cause severe interpersonal, academic, and occupational issues. It is estimated that around 5-11% of young adults in the United States could be affected by ADHD, making it one of the most common mental disorders of this age group. Effective diagnosis and treatment of ADHD in young adults is important to improve their quality of life and academic/professional performance. Treatment may include a combination of medications and other types of therapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). Self-management strategies, such as improved organizational skills and time management, can also help improve symptoms.
