Criminal Studies
Criminal Studies is an interdisciplinary field that studies the causes, effects, prevention, and rehabilitation of criminal behavior. It draws on knowledge from criminology, sociology, psychology, law, and other disciplines. Criminologists use both quantitative and qualitative research methods to explore topics ranging from criminal victimization to offender behavior and patterns in criminality. Criminal Studies provides a valuable knowledge base for understanding and addressing crime in society and assists policy makers to develop strategies to reduce criminal behavior. The field is also an important tool for criminal justice agencies, helping to ensure that effective laws, rehabilitative services and safety measures are put in place.
