Forensic Document Examination

Forensic Document Examination is the scientific process of examining physical documents for the purpose of uncovering forgery and other irregularities. This process usually requires specialized personnel who have a thorough understanding of handwriting, inks and other materials used in the creation of a document. The examination may also involve the use of advanced technologies such as microscopy, infrared imaging, and various analytical techniques, in order to establish the authenticity of the document in question. Forensic Document Examination provides invaluable assistance to the legal system in criminal and civil cases, as it helps to uncover the truth and identify forgeries.
