Forensic Geology
Forensic geology is the application of geological sciences to the investigation of crime scenes. It involves understanding and studying the physical characteristics of recovered objects and evidence. By analyzing these features, it is possible to determine the place of origin or any associations of objects or evidence to a particular environment. Additionally, it can also be used to identify illegal dumping and contraband, as well as to understand the movement of objects or evidence.
