It is a specialty within the field of forensic science and works in conjunction with other forensic techniques, including DNA analysis and trace evidence. This science can be used to provide vital information to criminal investigations, such as evidence of the perpetrator’s movements or possible identity. It also helps to pinpoint important timeframes and events. Forensic palynology has been used in notable criminal cases to identify perpetrators, measure the time of death, and even reveal new suspects.
