Suicide, Para Suicide and Deliberate Self-harm
Suicide, para suicide, and deliberate self-harm are serious public health issues, with an alarming increase in their occurrence in recent years. Suicide is defined as the act of taking one’s own life. Para suicide is the provision of assistance to someone else to commit suicide, while deliberate self-harm is the deliberate, intentional infliction of injury that does not involve another person. Self-harm can be used to cope with overwhelming emotions or to draw attention to oneself. As a result of the seriousness of the issues, it is important to raise awareness and have a better understanding of these topics. Mental health professionals and support services need to be able to identify and intervene with people at risk in order to prevent self-harm and suicide. Public education is necessary to promote an understanding and acceptance of mental health issues, and to reduce the stigma associated with them. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential in order to reduce the negative effects of these issues. Furthermore, we must aim to break the silence, provide support and access to resources, and create safe and supportive environments for those at risk of self-harm and suicide. It is also important to raise awareness of the warning signs and to promote healthy coping strategies. In this way, we can reduce the risk of suicide and empower people to seek help.
