Physical Therapy Modalities
Physical therapy modalities are techniques used by physical therapists to aid in the healing and recovery of individuals with injuries or illnesses. Modalities are non-invasive treatments that utilize physical energy, such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation, to provide relief from pain, reduce swelling and inflammation, improve mobility, and promote healing. These modalities can be used to improve physical function and to return the patient to their previous lifestyle. Physical therapy modalities are highly effective and will often provide lasting results if used in conjunction with other physical therapy treatments.
