Plant Antioxidant
Activity Plant antioxidants are compounds found in edible plants that have the ability to neutralize highly reactive and damaging molecules known as free radicals. These free radicals are associated with oxidative stress, inflammation, and a variety of chronic diseases. The activity of antioxidants in plants helps protect our bodies from oxidative damage, reducing the risk of diseases. Examples of antioxidant compounds found in plants include polyphenols, such as flavonoids and carotenoids, as well as other substances, including vitamins C and E. The antioxidant activity of plants is beneficial for many aspects of human health, including reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and neurodegenerative conditions. Additionally, a diet rich in plant-derived antioxidants can help boost the immune system and promote healthy aging.
