Ankle Fracture
An ankle fracture is a break in one or more of the bones that make up the ankle joint. It is caused by a direct blow to the ankle, a twist or a sudden misstep. It is a common injury that affects adults and children. Treatment typically involves immobilization, physical therapy and surgery. Early diagnosis and treatment is important to ensure the ankle heals properly and the patient can return to normal activities.
