Osteochondrodysplasia
Osteochondrodysplasia (OCD) is a rare genetic disorder that affects the development of the bones, joints and cartilage (connective tissue) of the body. It is characterized by abnormal growth and development of cartilage and bone tissue. Symptoms include joint pain, decreased mobility, skeletal deformities, and stunted growth. Treatment options vary depending on the type and severity of the condition, and may include physical, occupational, and speech therapy, as well as surgical interventions to correct joint deformities. OCD can significantly impact a person’s quality of life and should be managed with a professional team of experts. Early diagnosis and treatment interventions have been shown to improve outcomes for individuals living with this condition.
