Polymyositis

Polymyositis is an autoimmune disorder where the body’s own immune system mistakenly attacks the muscle tissue, leading to muscle weakness and pain. It is most common in adults aged 30 to 50, and it is more common in women than men. Polymyositis can range from mild to severe and can affect the proximal muscles as well as the distal muscles.
