Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disorder in which the body's immune system attacks its own joints. It can cause inflammation, pain, stiffness and damage to bones, cartilage, and other connective tissues. RA is a chronic, long-term condition that can affect people of all ages, most commonly those over 40. Treatments for RA include medications to reduce inflammation, slow down the progression of the disease, and relieve pain. Physiotherapy and lifestyle changes may also help to reduce the symptoms of RA. With proper treatment, those affected by RA can live a full and healthy life.
