Soft Tissue Rheumatism
Soft Tissue Rheumatism is a type of rheumatism involving inflammation and pain in soft tissues around joints, such as tendons and ligaments. It is a broad term that encompasses several medical conditions including bursitis, tendonitis, myofascial pain, and fibromyalgia. This type of rheumatism is a common cause of chronic musculoskeletal pain, and can be very disabling for the individual. Treatments may involve physical therapy, rest, and medications such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, corticosteroids, and analgesics.
