Sports Medicine

Sports Medicine is a branch of medicine focused on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of injuries related to sports, exercise, and physical activity. It is a multi-disciplinary field made up of a team of physicians, physical therapists, athletic trainers, dietitians, and other medical professionals. The practitioners in this field help athletes stay healthy and perform at their best, preventing and treating injuries related to participation in sport or physical activity and helping to improve performance and prolong participation in sport. Sports Medicine is important for athletes and active individuals of all levels and abilities, as it can help reduce the risk of injury, maximize performance and optimize physical and mental functioning.
