Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is a type of evidence-based psychotherapy used to treat a wide range of mental health issues. It focuses on increasing an individual’s ability to accept difficult thoughts and emotions without avoidance or judgment, while simultaneously committing to action that is consistent with their personal values. ACT can be helpful in treating anxiety and depression, improving overall well-being, enhancing relationships, and increasing the ability to manage chronic pain. The overall aim of ACT is to help individuals live more meaningful and healthy lives.
