Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a branch of medicine that focuses on the mental health of children and adolescents. It aims to provide compassionate, evidence-based care for children and adolescents with psychiatric and neurodevelopmental disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, trauma-related issues, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD, autism spectrum disorders and learning disabilities. Child and Adolescent Psychiatry focuses on interventions and treatments to improve the physical, social and emotional health of children and adolescents. This includes helping children and adolescents to become aware of their own emotional and behavioral difficulties, understand the impact that these difficulties have on their functioning and quality of life, and learn effective strategies to manage and cope with their mental health issues.
