Existentialism

Existentialism is a philosophical movement that emerged in the 19th century, mainly focusing on the individual’s experience in terms of freedom, responsibility and meaning. The central idea behind this philosophy is that each person has the freedom to shape their own lives and find individual meaning in their experiences. It also emphasizes the importance of making choices and taking personal responsibility for their own actions. Existentialism has had a large impact on many other disciplines including literature, psychology, political theory and theology. It has also been influential in the development of modern psychotherapy and has had a major influence on popular culture. Existentialism is an important and relevant philosophical movement, and its concepts are widely used in today’s society.
