Fear

Conditioning Fear conditioning is a form of associative learning where a learned response of fear is elicited to a previously neutral stimuli. It is an important tool in psychology to study the effects of classical conditioning, how humans and animals form associations, and the role of experience in shaping behavior. Fear conditioning is used to research the neurological mechanisms underlying emotions and the mechanisms of traumatic memories. It is also used clinically to treat patients with anxiety disorders, phobias, and post-traumatic stress disorder.
