Personality

Disorders Personality disorders are mental health conditions characterized by extreme patterns of rigid behavior, thinking and emotions which significantly interfere with a person's ability to function and maintain healthy relationships with others. In most cases, they are lifelong and have a dramatic impact on social, familial and work life. Many personality disorders can be treated with psychotherapy, medication or a combination of the two. Improved insight and understanding of one's behavior and feelings can lead to improved functioning and improved relationships. Understanding, recognizing and treating personality disorders can lead to better outcomes for affected individuals and their families.
