Psychometrics

Psychometrics is the branch of psychology that studies psychological measurements and the construction and evaluation of instruments used to measure mental processes and behavior. It is often used to measure various aspects of personality, intelligence, aptitude, and preferences, in order to provide insights into the cognitive abilities of individuals. Psychometrics can be used for diagnosis, research, and to inform educational and vocational decisions. Its applications also include marketing, personnel selection, medical diagnosis, and crime prevention. By helping to uncover the underlying psychological character of individuals and populations, psychometrics has become an essential tool for understanding and predicting different aspects of human behavior.
