Tension-Type Headache
Tension-type headache (TTH) is a primary headache that affects more than 30% of adults worldwide. It is characterized by a constant, non-throbbing painful sensation, affecting both sides of the head with neck and facial tightness. TTH is classified by the International Headache Society as a chronic recurrent headache and is one of the most frequent forms of headache in adults. Treatment for TTH includes the use of medications, physical therapy, and behavioral therapy. Additionally, lifestyle modifications such as relaxation techniques, proper nutrition, and regular exercise can help reduce the frequency of TTH. It is important to seek medical advice if TTH persists in order to determine the underlying cause and proper course of treatment.
