Data Compression
Data compression is a technique used to reduce the amount of data needed to represent a file, making it easier to store and transmit. It is used in many areas of computing, including webpages, software, images, and video. The main benefit of data compression is that it decreases the size of a file, which decreases the time it takes to transmit, store, or unpack the file. For example, the size of an image file can be significantly reduced using data compression algorithms. Additionally, data compression can also be used to disguise a file so that it is not easily detected or manipulated by malicious actors.
