Bioenergy

Bioenergy is a renewable energy source derived from biological sources such as plants, livestock and agricultural waste. It is capable of being converted into usable forms of energy, such as electricity, heat, and transportation fuels. Bioenergy is used in many sectors such as electricity generation, heating and cooling, transportation, industry, and biomass combustion. It offers a potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollution, while promoting economic development and job creation. Bioenergy is also becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to fossil fuels due to its cost effectiveness and environmental benefits. This makes it an attractive option for businesses, governments, and consumers alike.

Type: Open Access Journal
Editor: Bahador Bakhtiari, Research Scientist Chercheur Scientifique Natural Resources Canada
Energy conservation is not about making limited resources last as long as they can. Most of our energy use comes from fossil fuels like petroleum and coal that provide electricity and gas to power our growing energy needs. These resources are non-renewable which means that we will eventually run out. Conserving energy helps to conserve resources.
