Cytopathology

Cytopathology is a medical specialty which deals with the diagnosis and management of diseases that involve cells. It involves the examination of cells from body fluids or biopsies for the purpose of diagnosing and managing various diseases. Cytopathology has become increasingly important in the medical field due to its ability to identify cancerous and precancerous cells. It is often used for screening for various kinds of cancer such as epithelial, lymphoid and mesothelial, and for monitoring the progress of chemotherapy.
