Tractography

Tractography is a branch of medical imaging that uses MRI technology to create 3D images of the white-matter pathways in the brain. It is used to better understand how different areas of the brain are connected. Since it can track the movement of the nerve fibers, it can help identify issues with the brain's white-matter pathways, such as those involved in neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s. Additionally, it can provide insight into the development of the brain and offer information about mental illness, traumatic brain injuries, and stroke. Lastly, tractography can be used to compare the brains of individuals with different types of diseases, allowing us to better understand how they differ.
