Cervical Cancer and Diet
Cervical cancer is a malignant tumor that originates in the cervix, the lower part of the uterus. Diet can play an important role in cancer prevention and has been found to affect the risk of cervical cancer. Eating a diet rich in vegetables and fruits, limiting processed and red meat, and increasing fiber intake can reduce the risk of cervical cancer. Additionally, consuming foods higher in folate, vitamin C, and carotenoids may reduce the risk of cervical cancer. Additionally, limiting intake of alcohol and avoiding smoking may be beneficial. Following a healthy diet is a way to potentially reduce the risk of cervical cancer.
