Childhood Disorders
Childhood disorders are a group of mental health conditions that occur in early childhood and can have long-term implications for a child’s physical, emotional, and behavioral health. These disorders may manifest as difficulties with communication, learning, and impulse control, as well as social and relationship problems. Common examples of childhood disorders include attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental delays, and anxiety disorders. Early diagnosis and treatment of childhood disorders is key to helping children reach their full potential and to maintain their mental health. Evidence-based treatments such as psychopharmacology, psychotherapy, and educational interventions can be effective in addressing symptoms of childhood disorders, thus improving a child’s quality of life.
