Psychiatric Disorders in Children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders
Psychiatric disorders are mental health conditions that can affect children with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and learning disabilities. These conditions can cause a wide range of disruptive behaviors, such as problems with concentration, impulsiveness, aggression, and social interaction. Early recognition and treatment of psychiatric disorders can improve the child’s quality of life, enable them to better manage the symptoms of their neurodevelopmental disorder, and help prevent further complications. A range of treatments can be used to help manage these disorders, including psychotherapy, medication, educational and behavioral interventions, and family and support services.
