Anaphase

Anaphase is an important stage in the cell cycle, during which chromosomes move from the cell equator to opposite ends of the cell. It is the final stage of mitosis and follows prophase and metaphase. During anaphase, two sets of chromosomes migrate to opposite poles of the cell and the two daughter cells formed will each contain a complete set of chromosomes. Anaphase is fundamental for cell division and ensures the even distribution of genetic material among daughter cells. This step contributes to the continuation of the life cycle of the cell, promoting cell growth and the formation of new cells.
