Chromosomal Disorders
Chromosomal disorders are genetic conditions caused by an abnormality in the number or structure of the chromosomes in a person's cells. They are typically associated with physical and intellectual disabilities, as well as some physical characteristics. Chromosomal disorders occur in about one in every 150 births, making them a significant cause of birth defects and intellectual disabilities. There are a variety of treatments available for people with chromosomal disorders, including medications, genetic counseling, and specialized therapies. Early diagnosis and treatment can help improve the quality of life of those affected by these conditions.
