Down Syndrome
Down Syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by the presence of an extra copy of chromosome 21, which alters normal physical and mental development. It can cause a range of physical and cognitive disabilities, including short stature, poor muscle tone, and heart defects. People with Down Syndrome may also experience learning difficulties and delayed speech development. Early intervention and specialized therapies can help people with Down Syndrome reach their full potential. Education, vocational training, and social and employment support can also help them to live full and meaningful lives as part of their communities.
