Receptors, Hiv
Receptors are proteins found on the surface of cells that recognize and bind to specific molecules. In the case of HIV, receptors are used by the virus to enter the host cell in order to replicate. Receptors are among the most important molecules in the host-pathogen interaction and understanding the specificities of their interactions is essential for the development of therapies that can successfully treat HIV.
