Sex Education
Sex education is the instruction on topics related to physical, reproductive, and emotional health with the aim of equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about relationships and their sexual health. It is an important aspect of comprehensive health education and promotes healthy behaviours, attitudes, and communication around topics related to sexual health and wellness. In addition to providing information about contraception, protection from sexually transmitted diseases, and other reproductive health topics, sex education also helps to foster an understanding of gender roles and development, the importance of healthy relationships, and the need for consensual sexual interactions. This type of instruction is important in order to ensure that individuals are equipped with the knowledge they need to make safe and healthy decisions that will impact their lives.
