Colorectal Neoplasia

Colorectal neoplasia is an abnormal growth of cells in the lining of the large intestine or rectum. It is an early warning sign that can indicate the presence of cancer. Early detection and treatment of colorectal neoplasia can greatly improve the chances of successful treatment and cure. Risk factors for colorectal neoplasia include age, ethnicity, family history, lifestyle, medications, and underlying medical conditions. Screening tests such as colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, stool tests, and imaging tests, can help detect colorectal neoplasia in its early stages. Treatment may involve surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or immunotherapy.
