Encephalomyelitis
Encephalomyelitis is an inflammatory disease of the brain and spinal cord which can cause significant neurological deficits. It is caused by an infection or immunological response and can result in a range of symptoms such as headaches, confusion, fever, seizures and paralysis. Encephalomyelitis is a serious condition that requires prompt attention to avoid irreversible damage or even death. Treatment for encephalomyelitis involves aggressive supportive care such as balancing electrolytes, controlling seizures and providing respiratory support. Medications may be prescribed to reduce the severity of the inflammation, and the underlying cause should be treated. Early diagnosis and intervention are critical for the best possible outcome.
