HBV
HBV, or hepatitis B virus, is a virus that infects the liver causing a serious liver infection. It can be spread through contact with the blood or body fluids of an infected person, as well as through sexual contact. Once infected, the virus can cause chronic liver disease, cirrhosis and even liver cancer. There is currently no cure for HBV, but there are treatments available that can help manage the infection, as well as a highly effective vaccine to prevent infection. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to managing the infection, and preventing further complications.
