Insect Viruses

Insect viruses are a group of viruses that specifically target insects, such as mosquitoes, bees, and butterflies. These viruses are important in agriculture, as they pose a major threat to insect-borne diseases, which can cause crop loss and famine. By controlling insect populations, these viruses also help to conserve biodiversity. Additionally, some insect viruses have been studied for biotechnological applications, such as the use of baculoviruses for producing vaccines and insect-resistant transgenic plants.
