Relapsing Fever
Relapsing fever is a bacterial infection caused by Borrelia bacteria, which are spread through the bites of lice or ticks. Symptoms of this infection include high fever, chills, and headaches. After the initial infection, the symptoms may disappear for a period of time, but then return. Treatment consists of antibiotics and supportive care. Relapsing fever can be fatal in some cases if not treated. It is an important disease to prevent and control, as it continues to be a global health concern. It is especially common in developing countries and in people living in overcrowded, unsanitary conditions. To reduce the risk of contracting relapsing fever, it is important to take measures to avoid contact with lice or ticks, and to maintain good hygiene.
