Remittent Fever
Remittent fever is an infectious disease caused by a virus or bacteria. It is characterised by recurrent fever with an intermittent pattern, meaning that the fever comes and goes in cycles rather than being persistent. Common symptoms can include headaches, chills, aches, and a general feeling of discomfort or malaise. Remittent fever can be very serious in some cases, including severe dehydration and respiratory problems. Treatment for remittent fever usually consists of antibiotics, antivirals, and pain relievers, as well as keeping the patient hydrated. Since remittent fever can be caused by any number of agents, an accurate and timely diagnosis is essential. The timely treatment of remittent fever can help prevent more serious complications and avert potential hospitalization.
