Sv40

SV40 is a virus which belongs to a group of viruses called Polyomaviruses. It is a small, double-stranded DNA virus which can infect a wide range of mammal species. SV40 is known for its ability to cause tumors in infected animals and is thus studied for its potential role in the study of oncogenesis. It is also used in scientific research as a model to study viral genetics, gene expression, and pathogenesis. Additionally, SV40 has been used as a tool for gene therapy and the manipulation of genomic sequences. It is an important research tool and a powerful tool in understanding the complexity of the virus-host interactions.
