Zika Virus
Zika Virus is a mosquito-borne virus that is primarily spread by the Aedes mosquito. It can cause mild fever, rash and conjunctivitis, and has been associated with neurological and auto-immune disorders, including microcephaly and Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Zika Virus is a global health risk, as it is found in many countries around the world and has a potential to cause severe health problems. Preventive measures such as reducing mosquito populations and avoiding mosquito bites can help protect people from infection. Vaccine development is an active area of research and several promising candidates are in development.
