Overview

Treatment of oral problems comprises the diagnostic and therapeutic interventions used to manage diseases, defects, and functional disorders of the teeth, supporting tissues, and jaws. It spans restorative and endodontic care, oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontal and orthodontic therapy, and the prosthetic or implant-based replacement of lost dentition. The aim is to restore function, relieve pain, control disease, and re-establish aesthetics, with the choice of approach guided by the nature, extent, and location of the problem and by the patient's overall oral and general health. This topic is grounded in clinical case reports and procedural studies across dentistry. Relevant work includes the surgical management of impacted or diseased teeth, such as flapless root resection of maxillary molar roots and autotransplantation to replace missing first molars, as well as sinus augmentation with bioactive graft materials to enable implant placement. Related research addresses the orthodontic correction of malocclusion, including maxillary constriction in skeletal Class II cases, monitoring of gingival crevicular fluid during orthodontic treatment, the prosthetic rehabilitation of edentulous arches with implant overdentures, and the recognition of oral manifestations of systemic syndromes. Collectively these studies illustrate the breadth of techniques used to diagnose and treat oral problems and to preserve long-term oral function.
