Overview

Dentistry is a critical healthcare sector that deals with oral health care. In recent years, oral implants have gained widespread popularity due to their effectiveness in restoring missing teeth. An oral implant is a surgical component made of titanium or other biocompatible materials that are fixed in the jawbone to support a dental prosthesis like crowns, bridges, or dentures. Dental implants are crucial in improving the quality of life for individuals who have lost their teeth due to injury, decay, or gum disease. Proper care of dental implants can enhance oral hygiene by reducing the risk of bacterial infections, gum diseases, and other dental issues. The development of new technologies and techniques for implant placement has made dental implant treatment streamlined and efficient. Two-dimensional radiographs or three-dimensional CT scans, for example, help diagnose and assess implant planning and placement. Dental implant treatment can also improve the diagnosis and treatment of tumors. With the early detection of dental tumors, a dentist can prevent their progression and provide corrective dental care to inhibit their growth. Patients with complex dental tumor cases require the expertise of a dental specialist for diagnosis and treatment. In conclusion, the science of dentistry is continually evolving due to technological advancements. It is paramount, therefore, that dental practitioners continuously update their knowledge to provide the highest quality of care for dental implant placement and care, diagnosis, and treatment of tumors.
