Bartonellosis

Bartonellosis is an infectious disease caused by different species of bacteria belonging to the Bartonella genus. It is an emerging zoonotic disease that primarily affects humans, cats, and other animals. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and may include fever, headache, rash, fatigue, and enlarged lymph nodes. In some cases, the infection can cause long-term complications such as eye and neurological problems. Treatment usually involves the use of antibiotics and supportive care. Vaccines are available for certain species of animals to help prevent Bartonellosis. Early diagnosis and proper treatment are important for successful treatment and prevention of long-term complications.
