Dermatology
Dermatology is a medical specialty concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the skin, hair, and nails. It is an important field of medicine as skin, hair, and nails are essential components of overall health and wellbeing. Dermatologists are trained to understand the anatomy and physiology of the skin, hair and nails, and are able to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of skin conditions. Common treatments provided include skin cancer screening and management, acne treatment, skin grafts, laser treatments, skin surgery, and other cosmetic procedures. Dermatology is also an important field for the prevention and early detection of skin conditions which can lead to complications within the body, such as sun damage, infections, and skin cancer.
