An esthetician is a professional who specializes in skin care, makeup, and other beauty treatments. Estheticians perform various treatments to improve the appearance and health of the skin, including facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, waxing, and other body treatments. Estheticians use specialized products and techniques to help restore the vitality and beauty of their clients’ skin. Estheticians are highly trained and knowledgeable in the anatomy, physiology and pathology of the skin, and use their expertise to help clients achieve their desired look and promote better skin health. Estheticians also advise their clients on skin care regimens and lifestyle habits that can improve their skin’s appearance and health.

Dermatology is the area of health that diagnoses and treats problems with the skin. Sometimes also, cosmetic care and enhancement. Dermatology is literally the study of the skin. A dermatologist treats diseases of skin which can also be cosmetic problems of the skin, scalp, hair, and nails. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects.
