Onychomycosis
Onychomycosis is a fungal infection of the nails, including toenails and fingernails. It is caused by a variety of fungi and is a common condition that affects up to 10% of the population. Symptoms of onychomycosis can include nail discoloration, thickening, crumbling, and detachment from the nail bed. Treatment can range from topical antifungal creams to oral medications, depending on the severity of the infection. The early diagnosis and treatment of onychomycosis can help reduce the risk of further complications, such as nail deformity and skin infections.
