Plastic Surgery
Plastic surgery is a medical specialty focused on the surgical reconstruction and repair of tissue defects due to trauma, congenital anomalies, and diseases. It is widely used to improve a person’s appearance, and can also be used to restore function in areas impaired by trauma or disease. Common areas of plastic surgery include facial surgery, such as rhinoplasty and blepharoplasty; body contouring, such as abdominoplasty and liposuction; and reconstructive surgery, such as breast reconstruction after mastectomy and scar revision. Plastic surgery can enhance a person’s self-esteem, confidence, and quality of life.
