Seborrheic Dermatitis
Seborrheic Dermatitis is a common skin condition that results in scaly, itchy and red patches on the skin. It can occur on the face (especially around the eyebrows, nose, and forehead), scalp (dandruff) and chest. It is caused by an increase of a type of yeast, Malassezia, living on the skin. Seborrheic Dermatitis can occur at any age, but it is most common among adults. Treatment is available to reduce the discomfort and flare-ups associated with the condition. This can include medicated shampoos, topical creams and lotions, and oral medications. With appropriate treatment, the symptoms of Seborrheic Dermatitis can be managed and the condition can be effectively controlled.
